E3 Spark Plugs???? OPINIONS????
Has anybody ever used E3 spark plugs in there LS1? I saw a segment on Horsepower that said they could add and extra 5hp and save on gas! Not sure if this has any truth to it....any opinions??

i've seen 3 other threads about this in the past hour. I haven't tried them yet personally, but aparently they suck in real life, and everyone seems to stick with the ngk tr5, and a couple other brands.
Aparently e3 sponsored that show, so of course they're going to be great

I just pulled them out of the Z i just bought and they looked really dark brown on the ceramic, and black, burnt on the prongs. The gap on them was huge, about .80-.90. I switched back to TR55's gapped at .50 and runs smoother, cleaner.

+1. I got some bosch platinum +2's late one night from walmart when i wanted to change my plugs out, it was all the friggin had for LS1's. Damn things were ridiculous priced, i payed like 7 bucks a pair. Then I read that there has been a few cases where the tips have fallen off inside the cylinder, as well as no documented gains at all. So I took them back the next day and went to the closest O'Reilly's half hour away and picked up some TR55's for 16 a set. **** walmart.

just another gimick...remember splitfire from back in the day?
if anything they just shroud more of the spark area, just a waste of money...changing plugs of any sort is not going to give you any real gain so long as both are in good condition and the same heat range
if some plug magically gave you 5-10 hp you wouldn't have to ask about them, it would be general knowledge

SO I just pulled a plug to see what's in my car. (Just bought it last July with 29K miles) And guess what, it's got Bosch Platinum +4s R3 281. I think that may be my next project. Might be switching to what everyone on here swears by. Those NGK TR55s. Car doesn't run bad, but doesn't seem to idle as smooth as I think it should. Who knows, could be all in my head.
