4 Inch Intake for 98-02 F-Body
Been tossing this idea around at the shop for awhile and we finally made one the other night. It is made of 4 inch aluminum piping (rough shined finish, will probably polish later) all tig welded. We did have to cut a part of the front support but a bracket is being made right now that will bolt where the stock lower airbox bolted up to regain strength and support the radiator.
gained 20 something whp over a slp 4 in lid. (have to look at graphs)

good job guys nice results, just a thought could u make it dual cone at the bottom? so each cone would recieve air from the snorkel holes in the bumper. just a thought

Possibly. I don't have my front bumper support bar in nor my washer tank. If we replicate it for sale we will offer it in factory tb size and 4 inch along with a new winsheild washer bottle. I need to find a bumper support an bolt it up to see how everything fits. I could look into the dual cone idea. This one I'd great with just one filter in the drover side snorkel hole.

I believe it, pop the lid off and pull the filter and even with the shroud cut almost half the opening is blocked to suck air through, what a great ******* design GM.
I wouldnt be able to handle having all that **** visable though on my car, I would work on cutting up the plastic top so it doesnt look so ghetto (no offense).
Nice work, nice looking piece.

20rwhp is sweet, but what exactly were the conditions between the 2 tests? were fans pointing right at the cones in the second test? what was the first test? cold air intake or just k&n with lid?
Def ganna do some fab work for my setup either way lol

fan was in the same spot for both tests, our mustang dynamometer has sae correction as well as weather correction. all dyno pulls done on same day. my first setup was slp cold air intake kit, replaced by the 4 inch tube style intake.

I wonder if a larger filter would have any significant difference? I have also thought of making mine a dual setup with a merge like some guys discussed earlier. But if it wouldn't provide much of a difference then I'll just leave it the way it is. Apparently it works according to your results!
