Default Two Questions About Hooker Headers

http://www.ws6project.com/user_stor/...oducts_id=2886

Alrighty,

1. What is the difference between the 98-99 & 00-02 headers? The emissions block off plate or something? I have my EGR & AIR removed, yet mine is a 99.. so should I get the 98-99 or the 00-02?

2. There is a painted and coated option. I assume the coated option is the shiny, stainless? option. Are the painted ones painted an aluminum color, or are they blackish?

Thank you

Just get the correct ones for your year.

Coated are the silver looking color ones, not stainless. The regular painted ones come in black and it burns off within 5 minutes of run time and look like complete **** afterwards.

Hooker may have discontinued their 2468 line which are the longtubes that come with EGR and O2 bungs for street legality. I tried to get a hold of stainless Hooker longtubes 2468 2-HKR and the supplier was emailed by Hooker stating that product was no longer available. I emailed Hooker asking about the product line and of course have gotten no response as of yet.

If you have your air and egr removed go ahead and get the race style if they offer it so it will have no egr or air bungs or just get the 0q-02 style which will have air but no egr. Painted isnt worth it, they will rust and theyre blackish in color. Cermaic coated will be a silver shiny color.

You don't want the EGR tube on the headers if your not running EGR. Main reason is the little bastards get shook so much that they will crack and break off.

Got an email response from Hooker, the 2468 line will be available again in April. However seeing as your AIR and EGR are removed you can go with the 2290 line.
