They will perform the same.
Fitment of the aftermarket SLP lid is hit or miss.
The blackwing lid will fit really well.
They are rare though & usually go for $300+

On a point of interest- the '02 Hawks are the only ones that came with the blackwing, and the filter was different as well-they used a donaldson air filter in place of the stock one.

Awesome fitting lids are the Blackwings. However, they flow similar to aftermarket ones and even though they fit real well, they are very expensive and to buy one you WILL pay for it. Only way I'd buy one is if I had an '02 Firehawk that for some reason was missing it. Otherwise, not worth it imo.

I got my bro a K&N for Xmas a few years ago. When installing it, I don't recall anything special about the filter we removed, but this has been quite a few years ago. I'll have to take a look at it some time.

RedRocket is correct. My brother has the Blackwing Lid on his '02 35th SS. It and SLP's Dual/Dual Catback were the two special order options he added when he ordered the car in late '01.
I haven't ever heard this before.

Whereas not every 4th Gen Camaro SS was produced by SLP. I know they were instrumental in the initial reintroduction, but SLP eventually stepped aside and GM began to produce them from the factory. That was probably when the SLP mods became a special order option.
I have an SLP lid on my bird as well. It fits decent enough, so, yeah, I like mine too. Plus they add like 100HP, right? LOL

thank for the replies. my 01 ss did not come with one but found a near new lid from a firehawk including the bottom plastic piece for $250 shipped. and it has been installed already and i really like how it fits. so now i am thinking of selling my slp lid and bottom piece togeather.
