Default idle hanging until fully stopped

ok, so i know theres some other forums on here about this but i havent found any real answer as to why and how to fix this. of course like everyone else that has this problem, my idle hangs at 1200 then drops to normal idle when stopped. if im moving at a decent speend and take it out of gear and let off of the clutch, my rpms go sky high until i push the clutch in. BUT, if i let my car idle (right after cranking) without moving, and let it idle for a few minutes, it doesnt hold the rpms anymore for that drive cycle. any ideas

Who tuned the car? If someone redid the pcm sounds like they have the throttle cracker and possibly a few other tables settings wrong/too high.

OR

Vacuum leak. Most commonly from the PCV assembly being old/cracked and sucking air.

Are you saying that if you let it idle for a few minutes, then take it out of gear at speed the idle doesn't climb, but if you don't let it idle and do the same thing the idle climbs?

If it was a leak why does it drop back to normal once stopped?

I had a similar problem, it wasn't bad would just idle at like 1100 until stopped then dropped to 950, no biggie for me. I just put my 92/92 on and now it's a lot worse..... kinda afraid it's a vacuum leak though. If i drive on the hwy or sumin and toss in neutral it'll stay up at like 1700 until i stop then drops down to idle... IDK!!

after I installed my h/c setup my car would do this. would hang at 1100 or so and then come down once slowed down. after putting several hundred miles on the car it got alot better and now I really never notice it.
kinda sounds like a vacuum leak somewhere.

I have this same issue which came about after the fast was put in. Ill have to check more on a possible vacuum leak but my guess was always the tb was coming back all the way.

yea, i found my pcv hose behind the intake was rotted in half, also had a split on the boot where the pck goes, and some small hose on the back of the intake came loose. but my problem was my iac. so...i removed my iac, pulled the little plumger thing out to the end, stuck it back on, and didnt plug it in. idles perfectly now, at least until i get around to buying a new one.

Mine was doing this ever since I got my TB back from porting and polishing. I have hptuners so just to trouble shoot I zeroed out throttle cracker and follower to no avail. I then lowered my base running airflow down 2 points and that seemed to do it no more hanging idle. I have all new hose for PCV and have no vaccum leaks.
