search the forums for people that have done the flowmaster merge. that will help a lot and it will allow you to increase the diameter of your i-pipe. depending on your set up i would do a 3.5" i-pipe. it will have to be custom done by an exhaust shop but should not be very expensive at all. i am about to do this as well. except i am going with a 4" i-pipe and 4" mufflex cat back. bigger diameter pipe will mean a deeper exhaust note.

The merge adds to or lessens rasp depending upon what brand of Lt's you have. I completely removed rasp from my system - ARH 1 7/8 LT's with ARH catted y-pipe back to a Magnaflow catback by adding two 12 inch Magnaflow mufflers. See pics.

The merge on the y-pipe can also create rasp as that is where the 2 pipes go into 1. A high quality merge like the flowmaster merge can reduce rasp significantly, tho not completely. It did for me!

You can try that and if that doesn't work you can try to put a bullet in the I-Pipe and that should help it alot or cure it also.

It may depends on the kind bullet you go with but if it does I'm sure it's nothing you will miss anyway. But as long as it does what you use it for then it's a winning situation.

no it wont hurt performance.... bullets are straight through design. Ive had a bullet on a hooker setup and it smoothed the sound out quite a bit. I recommend a 12 or 18in bullet in I pipe and rasp solved.

Flowmaster merge or bullet or both should do the trick.

What Detoxx said. I have a FM merge and a powerstick bullet muffler in my I pipe and it killed about 99% of my rasp

I vividly remember that road. It was indeed long and well traveled. Glad you actually found something you liked in the end though.

Well if an gmmg you can complain. I still need to get some idle clips of my car and like a cruise by or something. Have you still considered the X-pipe setup with bassani pipes or you just done with it? To me it's more deeper with the pipes and X-pipe then it orginally sounded though.
