Default LS1 Coolant flow... For aftermarket gauge.

ok so i want to install a autometer water temp gauge in my 2000 TA and i dont want to use the port on the drivers head. I bought a hose adapter that goes inline with the radiator hose to give me the actual water temp as it exits out the enigne. My question is which it the outlet hose from them engine is it the bottom or top radiator hose. Thanks in advance
