SLP Smooth Bellow
I have a smooth bellow and I was wondering if it really does anything for your car? I am going to track tonight for a test n tune session and I was going to do a few runs with it on and then take it off and run with the stock bellow to see if there is any difference. But I was just wondering if there was really any hp difference? I know it claimed +6 but they always claim **** that dont happen. Thanks

It never hurts to smooth out airflow going into the TB, and the accordion bellows definitely does any BUT smooth air out.
That being said, you're not going to notice any gains from it with the naked eye (or butt). But I do chalk it up as one of those things that never hurts. The Fernco 3x3 works just fine. Pick one up at Home Depot for $6, stick it in some boiling water for about 10 minutes, and trip to fit over the MAF. Good to go.

Waste, i dont think so. Its very over priced, $62 by its self. Or get the flow pac for $307, which is a good deal. The stock peice looks like crap and better airflow is always a good thing. While yes it may not add hp that you can feel, its doing its job. Just to say the same, a battery relocation kit doesnt add hp, but it does shift weight to the rear, cleans up the engine bay, and helps with launch. So is it worth the money, most would say yes.

Is it a waste to get a white Hurst shift ****? It doesn't make the car go any faster nor does it improve your ability to shift over the stock ****, but it looks good and increases pride of ownership in your car. To me, the SLP bellow is like that too.
Sure, you could concoct a Home Depot solution that will smooth out airflow, but it's not going to look very good or have a factory-fit like the SLP bellow, plus you won't enjoy seeing it, in-your-face, near your expensive heads or fancy lid. So to me the SLP bellow was worth it.
