lq4...lq9.. but what truck is it from.. help

Default lq4...lq9.. but what truck is it from.. help

searched but was finding what i needed.. i know on older gm engines, if you search the engine block id and casting number on headsyou can find out what car it came from.. i have a 6.0 not too sure if its lq4 or lq9 (thinking lq4) but i want to know what vehicle it came from, seller doesnt know 100%.

block no.:12551964
heads no.:12556642c 317

if you pull one of the heads if the pistons are flat tops=LQ9 dished=LQ4

do you know of a way to check and see by the number posted what vehicle it came from?

either way, it came from a truck of some sort. either a 2500-3500 truck or a suburban something like that. if you want to know the exact truck, there should be a laser etched number right above the oil filter somewhere telling the last so many numbers of the VIN.

I think your block casting number should be 12551364.
No, BoostedHulk, its not a 5.3.

What vehicle it came from is almost completely irrelevant.
