Default Crank Snout Tap????

Where are ya'll get the extra long M16x2.0 tap? It seems the regular taps are too short, and a quick search on here confirmed that but no one says where they got theirs from. One member said they got their from hawk618 but he hasnt been on for a while.

A trick that has worked for me on other situations might work for ya, Take the stock crank bolt and cut 3-4 slots in the bolt from the bottom to the top of the threads(I use a grinder with a cutting wheel) , you will have a good chasing bolt for cheap....

Ill try that but I think I really need the taper on the end to get it started. I think the threads are just gummed up from left over loc-tite and dust/grime from sitting in the corner of my garage for a long time.

i think RARON455's method will work. i've done this also. throw a little used oil on the bolt also.
