Default Need help finding headers...for a boat.

Ok, here's the deal, I'm putting an LS1 in my jet boat and I need headers for it. Seems like a simple deal...but, no. So, here's the requirements...the collectors have "end" at the same place. Here's what I mean...F-body headers are longer on the pass side than the driver side, and that'll make my boat look retarded. There's also clearance, from the back of the engine to the front of the transom is 9", and from that point to the top of the transom is 8"...so I need headers that at 9" back, have a 8+" rise. I'm getting frustrated, so I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense...but if anyone out there knows of something that will work, please let me know. Also...the cheaper the better.

Thanks!

I think you'll be better off getting a set made man.

Plus if they're wet headers, you'll need to use stainless instead of just mild steel anyway to keep them from rusting.

Your using a motor that doesnt come stock in a boat (yet) so as far as I know they dont make over the transom headers for an LS motor. Let me know if you find any though.

Good luck man

It looks like maybe C5 LTs, G8 LTs, or CTS-V LTs may work. I'm looking into that right now. I might go with a set of Mac Mid-length headers if I can verify that they will clear.

This just came accross my mind, what about a set of block hugger headers on backwards, and have an exhaust shop fab up a bend and some pipe to go over the transome? Heres a link to what im talkin about.

Just a thought.

Very good thought, I was looking at both Hooker's and Pacesetter's shorty/blockhugger headers...BUT they are 1-5/8" primaries with 2.5" collectors. Although I'm not going to be above 5500 rpm; I still think they might be "too small"

What about these? Patriot 1-3/4" for 55-57 Chevy with an LSx...under $450 new with the metallic ceramic coating.

Default Schoenfeld dyno or sprint car headers work perfect just flip em over

Get you a set of Schoenfeld dyno headers and flip em around and call it a day. . . im finishing up an ls3 with tooley night fury cam, very minor head work mainly just clean up to increase flow and studded heads and crank/rods, berkeley jet pump, aluminum A impeller , wedge, place diverter (modified) id say in a heavy hull like mine should have no problem seeing 70+
