Default Single Chambers on True Duals vs. Bullets

Have been searching around for a while now and cant find the answer i want.

I have TSP true duals right now with Bullets. Got a great deal on the system, or else i wouldnt have Bullets. To me they dont sound good, to obnoxious.

I'm wondering if anyone has switched from bullets to Single Chamber flowmasters? These again will be dumped at the rear axle.

Anyone happier with single chambers over Bullets.

Also interested in Spiral flows. Thought about seeing if TSP would just sell me the muffler set so i wouldnt have to have anything fabbed up.

The bullets help for clearance issues. Also, flowmaster isn't that good and will most likely lose you some horsepower. not worth it at all in my opinion

Not true. It's just the 80 series muffler that doesn't flow that well, that they use in the Fbody catbacks. Otherwise, the rest of their mufflers flow just fine. OP, if you want a little quieter, single chambers are the way to go, but they're by no means quiet. When I had a bolt-on LS1, I liked them, but they were still loud, even with piping out the back. Now, with the cammed 6.0, they're just way too loud. I'd suggest a full size muffler, like a Super 44. The casing height is the same as single chambers, so you won't lose any ground clearance, and they'll give off a better tone, and make it quieter.

i run single chamberd powersticks (medium) on my TD's and the sound is great IMO... very deep and mean, no rasp. but is very loud with true duals dumped with no cats coming off LT's...

I hope to be running some Warlocks in the future. They should have a classic turbo muffler sound until I uncork them. 4.5" tall case, but I'm going to BFH the seat pans. I've got a link in my sig to the build page.

Dynomax bullets are what i have now. I'm looking for something a bit quieter, but mainly not so obnoxious. I have some high flow cats that i will most likely have welded in as well. Sounds like single chambers or super 44's might be the way to go, or wait till i can afford to have the exhaust extended out the back.

You dont know what you're talking about Betty Boop.

OP, check this thread out for a direct comparison. Flowmaster sounds a hell of a lot better then any bullet IMO.

Your dead wrong. Yeah, the Flowmaster cataback will cause you to loose power, but not putting single chamber flows on true duals. People need to do their research and know what they're talking about before posting.

I dont see how you think a nicely done dumped bullet setup sounds obnoxious. Mine is an a4 with a stall and i have them dumped at the axle and i absolutely love the sound. Its a DD and the sound never bothers me. It is loud sure but any dumped setup is going to be loud. I love the tone of my setup.

different strokes for different folks. i thought my TD's with dumped bullets sounded downright mean and demonic, but just crusing around and what not (anything not at WOT) i thought it sounded like a farm truck.

Thats true, and sometimes people swear by bullets bc they havent spent enough time around some other car that really does sound better. Case in point, I had a buddy that swore his cut-out sounded like Nascar. He wanted to keep it forever. After he spent enough time around my car with true duals, he finally decided to chunk the cut-out in the trash and build a dual system. Now I'm trying to get him to dump his bullets for some single chambers Something he swore by back then, now he would never let a nasty sounding cut-out get back on his car.

I have a Torquer V2 that feeds into true duals. I have it x'd and then over the axle into a set of 1-chambers. I may be biased, since it is my own car, but I truly think it's one of the meanest sounding cars I've heard. The only thing that sucks about it is that I couldn't get the 1-chambers to fit horizontal, so I needed to flip them vertical. That took a couple inches away from ground clearance, but I don't usually go anywhere where it will scrape anyway.

Same place the single chambers fit, right under the axle. The casing height is the same, 4". So, it's not like I'd be losing any ground clearance.
