Default Cant get my dipstick in after LT install.

This is the only thing that is stopping me from driving this!!! The dipstick wont go any further. it has about 1/4 of an inch to go. The only issue is even if I was to get it in it doesn't line up to the bolt on the head to bolt it down??!?!

Also, on the header it doesn't step like the stock mani did?

I worked on it for 3 hours lastnight with my brother and friend and we couldn't get it back in.

Any helps please?!?!

mayeb clean off the end of the dipstick really well, and put a oil or some type of lube on the end of it to ease installation. as for the bolt not lining up, i dont htink you would be able to tell until i twas fully installed, and even then, those things can be bent around pretty easy. Im finishing up my headers tonight, now im hoping mine goes in without a problem!

Get a second person under the car to reach where the hole is for the tube to guide it in as you press harder with a socket (long 13 or 14mm I think)... Don't sweat the lube issue, just get the alignment right and push.

I can get it lined up no problem. It just isnt bottoming out on the lip that is 3 inches or so from the bottom of the dipstick. If it even was to go that far the bolt wont line up to the hole on the head. it will be to far down.

If you're having that hard of a time with it, stick the dipstick tube in the freezer for while, then try it.

I know how much of a bitch that is. Just did my headers a month ago and put the dipstick tube back in when it was dark outside with a drop light. It was a bitch on my 98 to but not like the current car. You may have to bend it a little to get it to work. Keep trying it will go in. Take breaks if you have to.

Can you post a close up pic of the end of your tube...?

Did you inspect inside the hole it goes into with a flashlight to see if anything fell in there...?

Put some hair around it.....

Sorry, nobody said it so I had to.

This is a common issue I have when removing the dipstick as well, and can be a real pain in the ***. What I usually do is get up under the car and get a hold of the dipstick and persuade it the rest of the way into the oil pan.

don't know...check to see if the throttle blade is open or if you can shut it?

I had this issue when I did my intake that the throttle cable was needing adjusted... Ended up taking the cruise control cable out of the equation.

Mine did also. It was extremely easy, just take you time and try not to bend the crap out of it.
