exhaust question for the f body guys
Im putting a ls1 into my silverado its lowered just as low to the ground as you guys cars. I right now have 3" pacesetters ory pipe and single 18" magnaflow exhaust dumped before the axle. its not loud at all at idle which i love and its pretty loud at WOT, but not the sound or tone i want. also has some drone around 65mph.
I want to run a full new setup from the header back to get the F body sound. Ive decided to run the headers right into a x pipe 2.5" and true duals all the way out. Ive been looking at the 18" bullet mufflers. I love the sound but am worried about it being to loud. i dont want cops on me all the time lol.
any suggestions on mufflers?

I've heard that the sweet thunder is one of the more quiet ones.

i have the TSP x pipe with dynomax bullets and just cruisin easy at 40 50 mph u can hardly hear my car unless i gotta give it some gas to catch up to traffic or something, on throttle on the interstate it does drone somewhat but its not terribly annoying, the best part is WOT because it SCREAMS....

The drone is most likely from the bed of the truck since you have the exhaust dumped right underneath it.
Changing the mufflers will not completely reduce the drone your having.
Your on the right path by running the exhaust past the rear wheel axle and dumping it closer towards the bumper. Yeah it may cost a little more, but you will not dread driving your truck on the hwy any longer. The sound you want will still be there, just in the face of other drivers behind you.
I had a set of magnaflows on my car and it was loud at WOT and still had a good tone at idle.
Here it is at idle,
Here it is in passing gear on the hwy.

what length magnaflows are those?
Well I know now the drone and resonance will stop the farther I run the pipe and the x pipe will give me that f body sound but what muffler/s won't be to loud and sound good

I think i want the magnaflows 4" round but not sure if i should go 18" or 14" case.
Arent duals generally louder at idle over a single setup since there are 2 mufflers?
I love the way my 18" case magnaflow sounds now but its to quiet at idle and i dont want to not hear my cam lope because my exhaust is so quiet when the motor goes in.

sweet those are in between with a 16" case and they are cheaper from summit ill have to check into those for sound clips.
edit i see they have small chambers or the spiral plates inside wonder if they are more restrictive any?
