Default What should i expect? is it worth it? Fast 102lsxr

ok guys here is what i have

stock ls1 shortblock
Prc stage 2.5 5.3 heads
torquer 3 231/234
lt's
ud pulley
3600 circle D
410's
Sd tune
stock Ls1 intake
stock injectors

now i am upgrading my converter to a 4400 circle D and i was also thinking of moving up to a ms3. i have ran a best of 7.26 the way it sits with my injector duty cyle way over 100%, my question is... what kind of gains will i see with the fast 102/102 lsxr and 42lb injectors and is it worth the 1500$ that im going to spend? i know my stock intake is holding me back quiet a bit being that guys are gaining 2-3 tenths going from a ls6 to fast 92 and im wanting to purchase the 102 which is suppose to be an additional 10rwhp over the 92.

3600 to 4400 converter
stock injectors to 42lbers
stock ls1 intake to Fast lsxr 102/102
231/234 to 236/242

im wanting 7.26's down to 6.80-6.90 with a 1.42-1.46 60'... am i asking for a little too much? or does this sounds reasonable?

You don't need the 102mm TB. Just get the ported FAST 102 and 42lb injectors

i was going to get the 102 cable driven because it is included with the deal at tsp and they dont sell a smaller tb for it.

Sure they do, the FAST 92mm fits it as well as the FAST 102mm.

ohh yea. i thought they didnt make them anymore because they dont make the 92 intake. do you guys think this 102 is actually better then the 92? why would they discontinue it if it was going to perform worse on a heads cam ls1

The intake doesn't perform worse, it performs better. FAST says the 102mm intake is 3-4hp better over the old 92mm intake. Independent dyno graphs seems to show 5-10hp.

They still make the 92mm throttle body to give you the option, if you do not need the 102mm capability. You need the smallest throttle body needed to supply air to you cylinders/runners. You will be better off with a 92mm. You wont see a much of a gain with a 102mm TB, but it'll look cool.

If you do opt for a 102mm, I would seriously look at the FAST vs. cheaper ones. My brother has one and after looking at it they included a very small bump on the bottom to help retain driveability. The cheaper ones Ive seen do not have this.

i hope not. this guy gained 33 rwhp going to a fast 85 https://ls1tech.com/forums/dynamomet...l#post13265194

for only a 20rwhp gain i would just buy the fast 85/85 from the classifieds for 600 instead of spending 1400.

Itll be what itll be. I gain 21whp on stockish 6.0L w. a 92mm. Vengance just got 44rwhp going from an LS2 intake to the new LSXR 102mm on a stout LS2.

Its your money, do what you want.

The ls1 intake is absolutely choking your h/c motor. Let it breathe!

Let us know what you decide to go with and any results you have. I bet you'd pick up 30rwhp from an intake/tb swap alone.

102 is definately better than a ls1 or an ls6..but on a H/c motor it might be a little overkill...but on topic i think a 102 would be worth about 20-30 hp over an ls1 intake..

dont forget if you get the fast 102, you're going to need new fuel rails as the stock ls1 rail wont work

What else is needed? Shorter valley cover bolts, right?

Regarding the newest/biggest FAST intake, I spoke with someone today that recently installed a 102/102 setup on their LS1, and they mentioned it was so big they actually had to grind a bit off the top of their waterpump to gain enough clearance to seat it.

If you can get the 60' in the 1.4x then it should go 6.9x without the cam swap imo...also curious what your current mph is?
