Default Borla Pro XS mufflers?

Anyone tried some Borla Pro XS mufflers on a TD setup? Getting ready to try and quiet my car down a little bit. The single chambers are way too loud, and I'm also looking for a muffler with a more refined tone. From what I've seen, the Pro XS mufflers are a quiet muffler, and still flow really well. I'm switching from an H-pipe to X-pipe this week, and if I don't like it, with the single chambers, I'm going to order some full size mufflers. So, it's basically between Flowmaster Super 44's and the Borla Pro XS's.

After doing some research, I couldn't find them on an LS1 anywhere. So, I decided to bite the bullet and go ahead and try them out, since they sounded really good on everything else I found, and I wanted to be a little different. So, hopefully, if they get here soon enough, I'll have a video up of them with an Xpipe up by next weekend.

Got the car back yesterday from the X-pipe and Borla install. It sounds amazing. Definately the sound I was looking for and quieted it down big time. If the weather would ever get nice again, I'll be able to make a video of the exhaust. I sure wish they would've tucked the mufflers up a little better though. I've already scraped them a couple times. And I can see that there's plenty of room to put them up higher.

I'll try and get some, sometime. But, you won't hear much. It's actually really quiet inside the car. I'm surprised at how loud it is behind it, because you can't really hear it much while driving.

Car sounds great! I am wanting to quiet down my TDs as well. Am mainly concerned with interior noise and drone. How are these on the interior? It looks like yours are dumped. Do you think they would work well by the back bumper?

Mine aren't dumped. It's ran under the axle to out back. Interior noise and drone couldn't be any better. It's actually really quiet inside the car, and made me think the car was too quiet until I stood behind it and had someone else rev it. Here's the only inside video I have so far. It's still not really that loud at WOT.

Yeah, you can see through them. It's just a straight through, baffled muffler. Which doesn't really make sense for how quiet they are, I thought. lol

Yeah those sound really good. Could they be mounted at the bumper or are they to big. I assume they are 3" all the way out. Could you take some pics of the setup, I might try these when I get ready to redo mine?

According to an article 5.0 Mustang magazine did, the Borla ProXS mufflers were one of the top performing mufflers while at the same time recording the lower if not the lowest decibels.

Open dump exhaust actually lost power compared to muffler setups.

The highest performing by not much at all was Bassani but that was significantly louder.

Borla ProXS and XR1 were 2 of the 4 top performers (quietest with least decrease in horsepower) I believe.

That's exactly why I bought them. They don't sacrifice any performance, and they're basically some of the quietest performance mufflers out there.

I'll try and get some pics soon. I'm sure you could put them at the back bumper, but I wouldn't. I made the mistake of moving the single chambers on my Camaro from under the back seats to the rear bumper, and it changed the sound of the system big time, with nothing but muffler movement. I hate the way it sounds now, and am really thinking about having them moved back.
