I havent had problems with the slp one, I dont yet know why everyone thinks their junk?
I still have my stock one and if it becomes a problem its not hard at all to change
I would get all of the other pre intake peices upgraded before using it though, wouldnt make sense to just have one intake peice that flows better when all of the others are still more restrictive.
I got the lid, bellow and ported throttle body, going to put the cold air on it soon.

yeah the funny thing about this is someone peeled off their slp sticker on their maf and it said delphi under it, its the same maf with a different brand name on it, and it is worth it to have for when i get my car tuned...

ive heard of a few instances where people have got their tune spot on with the SLP unit, only to have it go to **** a few weeks later.
dont beleive me, i dont care. but if your intrested, search and see. you will find about 1 person that has had good luck with it for every 100 people you find that have chucked it in the **** can.

I think you might be mistaken the slp comes with the screen its up to the buyer to remove if they wish to, it even says that in the description when buying. Thats why that statement is confusing to me?
Unless you were talking about a particular maf sensor that had been modified?

Sorry for bringing up this dead horse, but no one answered the initial question and I'm more curious than anything...

The two versions evidently use different "fudging"
resistors for slightly different freq-vs-mass-flow
curves. The early years being believed to be
"leaner" than the later.
If I were you I'd pull that resistor and use the
stock MAF curve from a truck or 'vette rather
than hoping SLP had any kind of concern for
accuracy.
