Default 5.3 head advice. Get them?

I have a buddy who's 5.3 truck just messed up (spun rod bearing) and he said I could have the 5.3 heads that came off the motor for free. The thing is they have 230000 miles on them. I have a local shop that will clean them up, put new valve springs and all and do a little touching up/slight porting and 3 angle valve job on them and flow bench them for around $300 or so without parts. Are they worth messing with for probably $600 total cost (including spring, retainers etc.) or do they have too many miles on them to fool with? I was just worried about valve guides and such? The heads will be going on a ls1 with a cam, fast 90/90 and all the rest of the bolt ons. Thanks for the input.

I would just have access to the 5.3 heads. They are free mind you and the only cost i would have in them is the machine shop and the upgraded valvetrain which i would need anyways for my cam. Still not worth it?
