Default Header modification

I have long tubes on my car just installed solid motor mounts well the collectors on my headers turn up slightly so i want to cut the collector back some to gain clearance that i need.My Question is will this hurt performance because i see some LT's that have hardly any collector just flange. Here is a pic of where i am thinking of cutting and putting flange.

I would suggest not cutting back further than the merge where the pipes come together. In the picture it looks like you're right in the middle of it.

Just a thought but any chance you can take that to a muffler shop or even yourself to heat and bend that sucker down? I would think if you had some torches and stuck that end over a nice internal tight fitting pipe you could just pull on it to straighten it out. But I could be way off. Just my .02
