Typical gains in 1/4 with LT's ?
What is a typical gain to expect on a 98 Z28 with a stock engine in the 1/4 with 1 3/4 long tube headers and 3" ORY ?
I know the 98 -99s had the lowest flowing exhaust manifolds.
I am assuming @ 2 tenths .
My mods are : A4 ,373's ,4000 stall , drag radials ,lid and a magnaflow C/B .

2-4. Sound will be depend on your setup. My buddy has magnaflow+LTS and its only a tiny bit louder than my magna on stock manifolds. Now you if have LM and add LT's its a completely different story lol

I wouldnt say louder means faster or that its a useful gauge of power or anything. My car feels a lot stronger after headers, and if traction was an issue before it certainly is now.

Kind of hard for people to give you an accurate answer because most people don't pay attention to DA.
You can't run a stock car in 2800+ DA 13.5@105 and then put headers on and run in 500+ DA and run 12.9@109... You did not pick up .6 and 4mph from headers, the majority of that was from the huge help in DA.
You can't say, "Well the weather was about the same." there are many factors that go into determining DA besides heat/cold.
Unless you have the run before/after headers WITH DA calculations, the results mean nothing.
Headers will pick your mph more than your ET. With headers/ORY/cutout I would expect a 3+mph pick up and around .2 ET reduction. If you get a tune it will only help more. Of course this also depends on the rest of the setup of an individual car.
My .02.

Never got a chance to go to LTs but I gained quite a bit on my 98 with the Edelbrock shorties:

I would imagine atleast that with long tubes.

In the 1/8th mile on stock manifolds I ran a 9.3@78. With headers and about a 900DA drop I ran an 8.4@87.
I made huge gains because of the DA improvement and because my stock cats were pretty much clogged. Picking up .9sec in the 1/8th mile is HUGE, it just all depends on how much the stock pipes are choking the motor. With a stock internal car, if you're running fast for the mods you have it probably won't help a whole lot. But on the other hand, if you're running a good bit slower (like I was) it could really wake the car up.
