Default any track times or dyno #'s from a ls1 intake to a ls6 intake

i hear the ls6 is better but is it worth the 300.00, anyone have dyno numbers from this swap or track times for just the intake swap alone. I have a stock 98 engine with long tube headers , air intake and 4000 stall

most people say it's around 10-15 hp gain. Of course your set up will cause differences in the amount of power gain, but it seems the average is definitely less than 20 more than 10. Considering a 15 HP gain, that will probably get you a tenth in the quarter. LS6 intake is going to be more beneficial from a go rather than a dig.

I think the LS6 intake upgrade is definitely worth the $300. I installed mine along with long tube headers, and the difference with both was dramatic. It definitely gives you more top end power.

With my LS1 intake i would run 12.9 @ 104mph all day but after the LS6 intake swap plus a ported TB and a tune, i ran 12.7@109mph.

That proves nothing, you could probably see 20-25hp just from the ported tb and tune alone. I have friends that noticed nothing after the LS6 swap and others that felt it. Usually yes you'll see a 10-15 hp gain.

When my car was a bolt on car I added an LS6 intake and gained nothing at the track. There was no change in the tune(maybe the issue?). I didn't change the tune until I did a heads/cam swap. I have heard an 8-12 hp range pickup on a more modified car. I saw results from all the other modifications.

You have a good catback exhaust to compliment the long tube headers? If so, swapping from an LS1 to LS6 intake for $300 (assuming you could handle the labor) is money well spent. If you have plans for future mods (heads, cam, etc.) and would have to pay for the labor on the intake install, I'd hold off and do it together with the cam swap.

Generally speaking $300 for 10 rwhp would be a pretty good deal. Math there seems better than $900 for a FAST intake with your current mods.

Around 5-10 hp is common on a stock car. Def helps alot more on a modded one. More so in the upper rpm's.

It proves that i gain some HP after the swap. I dont think the TB would add 20hp...
