Default Anybody used the Edelbrock 5505 mufflers for duals?

I'm going to go ahead and do true duals on my car. I've narrowed the muffler choice down to two. Either the 9430109 1 chamber Flowmaster Race mufflers, or the Edelbrock 5505 mufflers. Both are center in and out 3in. The one thing I like about the Edelbrock is that the height of the muffler is 3.625 inches where the flowmaster is 4 inches. The edelbrocks are a little longer than the flows at 15in vs. 6.25in. I know what the flowmasters sound like and I'm pretty sure they give up a little on flow to the edelbrocks. But I'm really worried that if I went with the edelbrocks they would be TOO loud. Anybody here running them? If so, let me know your thoughts. Are they louder than the 1 chamber flows?
Thanks
Scott

I've seen a setup with Edelbrock RPM mufflers. Yes, the 3 5/8" height is a great thing.

I did a search and found some pics of a sweet setup using the Edelbrock muffs... I'm just wondering which would be quieter during normal driving. The edelbrocks or the 1 chamber flows?

The advantage of the 1 chamber flowmaster is that you can tuck it up in front of the rear axle because of the length. My X is a little lower than the mufflers are.

I came across that flow and Db sheet when I was searching around earlier. I've done some more checking and it seems like the Magnaflow #11229 would be a good choice too, it is 9in wide, 4in high, and 14in long. It is a center in/offset out 3in. Anybody ever use one of these?

If you want a quiet muffler look at the Borla Pro XS, it was very quiet in that comparison and still made almost the most hp.

It's only 14" long 4" tall and 9 1/2" wide.

I'm in the same situation, the flowmasters are nice because they're so small but I know they drone at cruising speeds in 5th and 6th gear. The Edelbrocks are nice and thin but they're long and kind of restrictive compared to the Borla or Magnaflow. Right now I'm down to either the Borla Pro XS or the Maganaflow. I'd like it to be a loud at wot though so I might go with the Magnaflows. If you decide on going with the Magnaflows pm me, I found a place that sells them $5 a piece cheaper than jegs.

Oh, one last thing Gomer, the offset designs are a bit easier to setup.

Well.. I've pretty much talked myself out of the flowmasters, I know they will be too loud at cruise speed.. especially after I install the 12 bolt with 4.10's. It will be between the edelbrocks or the Magnaflows. The edelbrock has a plus..it is thinner. The magnaflow has my attention because in the Db chart it is considerably quieter than the Edelbrock... Damn these mufflers!! I'm going to waste more time at work and do some more searching.

I used the 14" Magnapacks ... nice muffler. Pretty dang quiet at idle ...reasonable at cruise, although there is a very mild drone ...and very nice at WOT. Tone is very deep. My exhaust is about the same volume as my SLP Loudmouth setup with stock manifolds...but the tone is much better.
I have a 2.5" setup with x-pipe and turn downs angled 45 degrees out. I will e-mail you some pics of ground clearance.

Just to clear something up "MagnaPacks" are like bullets, 4x14" round mufflers. The Maganaflow oval mufflers are probably more quiet since they are larger and are actual mufflers.
