about a week ago i bough a set of used pace LT's & found a guy who would install them for a couple hundread bucks, it was a big mistake letting him do the work he did the S*****st! install ever! but long story.. so i get my car(2000 Z28 M6) back the next day & leaving his shop i got on it WOT to notice the diffrence & it ran like crap!.. & when im at WOT there's a lot of backfiring? my set up is Pacessetter LT's No cats, O/R y pipe, SLP LM1... Please help i need to figure out how to get it running solid again... in general the car just runs poor now(i can't even spin 2nd gear anymore).. the guy did throw in some o2 extenssion for the front o2 sensors but he left 2 other wires disconnected?... is it bad to continue driving my car like this? I installed Pcaesetter Long Tubes on my 99 formula and it did run poorly after the install because i removed the ERG, air, and rear O2's. I got a mail order tune from frost and my car ran like you wouldent believe. For your back firing issue make sure the spark plugs are fully tightened and not broken. Also make sure the spark plug wires are secure and the coil packs and spark plugs.

What wires are disconnected? I would do as they suggested and check the plugs/wires. That may just bring your car back to life some what but if that dont help, then go get a tune done.

Double check the wires. When you push them on you should feel them kind of click twice. I had the same issue, we even ran HP Tuners couldn't figure it out and finally traced the problem to a a loose plug wire.

idk exactly what they are but they look like they would go connected to the o2 sensors

Your rear 02 sensors were "deleted". The rear 02s are not needed, they are in place to verify your cats are working. Unfortunately, when you take them out without telling the computer your car goes into "limp mode." Find a tuner in your area to delete the sensors in the PCM.

The rear o2's will not cause the car to go into limp mode. They are only there to monitor the cats and do nothing to fueling that job is handled by the front o2's.Many people just leave the back o2's untouched when they go bad because its kind of a waste of money to fix em unless your staying stock. MAKE sure the fronts are hooked up if they are not it will cause all sorts of running issues as the car will go into open loop which is a predetermined fuel mixture instead of using the FRONT o2's to adjust it.
Yea thats why I asked what he means limp mode. I knew what he meant but I wanted hear and explaination why he said the rear o2s would effect the car which I knew it didnt. I have no rear o2s hooked up,its not tuned out yet,and the car runs the same before my header install. Plus its not my first car with ory.

It sounds like the car is either running horribly because its in open loop because a sensor is not hooked up correctly namely the front o2's. Are you sure theyre hooked up and hooked up into the right senors harness? It could also be that you have a leak somewhere which is causing the o2's to read lean and richen the mixture causing the motor to richen the mixture too much.

The guy that did the work gave me used o2 extensions witch one:the right side) he had to mod to fit it, he cut the plastic around the extension, plugged it in & taped it... & that's another thing there is a leak i beleave on both sides where it clamps to the ORY pipe so im going to just weld everything on
