Default Header wrap or just wires?

I just bought 1 7/8 kooks headers and am having issues with wires on the passenger side. Is it worth it to wrap the headers or just wrap the wires with the 1500 degree tape?

I would wrap the primaries before I thought about putting something on the wires that was adhesive.

They make fiberglass heat shields that slip over the wires & boots, good for headers:

I ran them on my 99 Z, but they get really nasty really fast. They just bounce around. I ended up selling them for what I paid for them about 6 months later. If they came in black and fit more snuggly that would have been ideal.

I have Pacesetters with the EGR (blocked) port and one of my MSD SuperConductor wires would rest on that. I had it like that for about 2 weeks and nothing bad happened. No red residue on headers or anything... BUT...just to be safe (and cuz I saw another guy at a carshow do it), I bought the same type of plug wire heat sleeves like that Amazon link there and put it over just that 1 wire. I imagine those Spark wires can withstand that heat, though.

Thumbs up

DEI makes some killer wire heat boots and I use them with my MSD wires, headers are next on the list.

Yeah, they didnt have them in black back in 2003. Otherwise I would have kept them.
