Default Is my alternator dying?

Hey guys-

Having this code, along with rough running.. It's going rich and getting unmetered fuel causing backfires and rough running..

I've got an Interceptor gauge that plugs into the ODB port and when the engine starts to run rough, the gauge shuts off..

So.. I'm thinking my alternator is crapping out, the loss of voltage is shutting down the Interceptor and PCM??

Does that sound logical?

I checked the voltage..

At the battery it's around 13.98Xv..
At the battery terminals it fluctuates from 0.00v to 14.12v's.. It will come on and stay steady at 13.99 and then fluctuate down to 7.Xv and 3.Xv and the 0.00v...

Is it time for a new alternator?
Thanks

Jeff

Autozone can check it on the car for free.

Yeh.. I dunno what's up with the car.. AutoZone said the alternator is fine.. While we were looking at the engine we noticed one of the coil packs is arcing.. Probably not a good thing.. I'm going to have to look into it..

On the way home, the car started running fine again... then it didn't for a little bit.. then it did.. So, I'm thinking the arcing coil pack had something to do with it.. LOL..

Is it going to ground from the plug wire connection?I always coat mine with dielectric silicone. It would seem possible to clean the affected area and dry it really well. I've seen it work on high voltage insulators. Just a thought.

No, it looks like it's arcing just underneath the pack..
