LS6 intake..worth it or not?
i was browsing the items for sale on a local forum and i came across a LS6 intake..its out of a 2002 camaro the guy bought FAST intake so hes getting rid of his LS6 intake...asking price is 100$ with the throttle body...his car is stock except for the exhaust system...how hard is it to fit my LS1? is the price worth it? what gains should i expect? thanks

ls6 intake is def worth it. You will notice gains on the high end pretty good. I agree with the other statements, just make sure its a real ls6 by checking the serial number on the side of it

If its out of an 02 it should be the ls6.
I don't really know if its worth the money to change over the ls1 intake as my car is an 01 and has it already. My car ran 14.4 at 100 and everywhere ive heard of or seen suggests it should be quicker than that.
I would buy it, even just to resell. They go for a bit over $300 on ebay.
I would imagine maybe 10hp with the upgrade? Just enough to notice it I would say. I put $500 into the parts leading up to the intake and its hardly noticeable. I still think the biggest gains over stock are in tuning and exhaust, maybe get a good camshaft upgrade if you want to bother.

In short, yes.
The more you mod the engine, the more gains you will get out of it. Probably starting around +10whp if you car is stock and only going up from there. I've read the LS1 intake restricts as early as ~260cfm. The LS6 around 280cfm. Fast 90 around 300cfm.
