Default FTP 98mm lid..no hole

just got my 98mm lid today and noticed there was no hole..Can anybody tell me what size drill bit they use to make one? Also does it have to be in an "exact" location?

I'd like to know as well. Leaving my IAT hanging in the engine bay is kinda killing performance.

its 11/16 hole..FTI told me..Now I whent down to home depo for a drill bit in that size and it was $80 dollars..FTP told me to go to harbour freight for a cone shaped one that increaes in size and not cause damage to the lid...I used a 11/16 "wood boring bit" it was about $3.50..

FTP thought it might crack the lid but it did fine..Just whent slow and increased speed a bit..I pulled out the bit..Saw two circles..I pushed it slowly and walla got a clean hole..

yeah use a step bit when you start getting around those sizes...i would recommend putting it on the back side flat portion for two reasons...it will not cause a turbulence spot like it would right in the neck. also it will be easier to drill on the flat surface...

I got their 2 into 1 connector so that way I could plug it into the maf with no issues along with the 5 to 3 wire (I think thats what its called) and just left out the entire sensor. Clean look that worked and didn't have to drill a hole for a cleaner look.

well if you get it from them you can tell them to drill it before they send it to you. or better yet get an 85mm maf since the sensor is built in...makes alot of sence. unless your Run SD

I recommend getting an AIT sensor extension and reloacting the sensor further to front of the car out of a hot zone. I've done this on all 4 of our cars and the tunes are more stable and are not as prone to heat soak or false elevated intake air temps.

Casper makes the extensions and they can also be found on Ebay.
