Angry QTP cutout rattle

About two months ago I purchased a QTP cutout for my camaro. Everything worked perfectly and sounded great until about a week ago when it began to make a rattling noise. Now it makes this noise at all times, even at idle, and it is rather annoying. The noise seems to be coming from the cutout valve being slightly loose at the closed position. I can stop the noise by holding the cutout switch in the closed direction, or by opening the cutout slightly. Is there something that I can do to fix this problem? Help please, it’s driving me nuts!

I had the same problem and it happened if the cutout was not fully closed or open. The solution is to put a bead of high heat silicone where the butterfly meets the casting. Hope it helps.

I had the same problem (I made a thread about it here where I detailed the fix) and it turned out that the screws holding the TB part to the motor assembly were lose. It was easy to fix. It took about 15 minutes to take the thing off, disassemble it and put it back together nice and tight. That was several months ago and it's still working perfectly. You'll just need a couple of allen wrenches if memory serves.

Oh, and do the silicone thing too. It'll seal 100% after that.

Mine rattles too, only when closed though. Since its usually open anyways, I don't really mind

Maybe add a "keeper" spring on the lever arm to help
it stay seated? Light enough for the gear drive to
overcome but stiff enough to buck exhaust pulse
reversion.

There isn't an arm. The blade rod is attached directly to the gearbox.

Make sure ALL of the screws are tight. Check it close. And carefully run a THIN and even bead of red silicone around the ledge that the blade meets. Allow it to cure before closing the TB. If you do this, it'll work great.

I had problems when I first got mine too. Some of you that are posting may not realize it, but you could be hitting the floor pan with the cut-out. My cut-out kept coming loose every 100 miles or so then it stopped working all together so I called QTP, they sent me a new motor twice. Then they said check the clearence.
I had to get my cut-out cut...out then rewelded since it was smacking the floor pan and damaging the valve assembly. Works fine ever since. Not even a rattle.
