Default Mufflex 3.5" or 4"

Cliffs:
- I have ARH 1 7/8's with 3" catted Y and Magnaflow catback
- Plan is to ditch the current CB and get a Mufflex 3.5 or 4" system (hide away tip)
- The car is lowered and has larger axle tubes (12bolt) so clearance is tight

Considering the tight clearance will a 3.5" system (w/ Mag race muffler) support 470rwhp + occasional 100shot? The 4" system would be nice but I want to avoid raising the car or deal with a clanking exhaust.

almost everything you need to know. except i have a spintech with dual tails. also i can't tell you how much clearance you will need as i don't have a 12 bolt. however i know i have plenty of room to lower my car as much as i could stand and not hit the pipe. also i promise you it will do no good to measure under the car, my exhaust guy did and he goes "**** there ain't no way that will fit!" then we pull the pipe out of the box and it fits perfectly LOL. and make sure you do a flow master merge. mufflex offers a y-pipe with one already welded in, but it's cheaper to grab a $130 TSP y and splice the $55 merge in. rather than paying $300+ for the mufflex piece.

I like the sound of my 4'' mufflex, the fitment is ok I need to do some adjusting of the Y-pipe every now and then the intermediate pipe & flowmaster merge hits the driveshaft loop.

Also my system is not welded completely which could be the cause of the shifting.

yeah mine is partially welded which helps ALOT. these systems are quite heavy and when you hit them with a lot of hp/tq and shake them around you will get shifting/leaking. which is why i need poly mounts BAD

Plus that Spintech muffler weighs a ton. I went with the free flowing Magnaflow myself.

I love my 4" Mufflex system! I went with the Spintech muffler but I've also modified the kit with v-band clamps so I can strip it off quickly when I take it to the track.

Here's an Idle/Rev vid of my car.
