Guys Just to give an update on this the problem I THOUGHT was resolved is not. I sent my TB to a member here on the board for a P&P job right about a month ago and went a long time w/o getting any response to my PM's I sent him about it. He finally replied back about a week ago and said he would have it out to me ASAP with a tracking number and all. Well here we are today and I have sent numerous PM's that have gone unanswered. Needless to say I don't have a good feeling about this. My car is a daily driver and the only thing I need is my TB back to get it on the road.

So that brings me to my question.. I have a 2000 Z28 and need to know if there is any difference in years for the TB from 98-02 ? Because it looks like I'm going to have to buy a used TB from someone here to replace mine. Not to mention I'm going to lose the $88 I pay paled him!

There were some differences in the TBs between the years. 98-99 were the same, and the 2000-02 TBs were the same. So make sure you get one that corresponds to the year of your car.

Thanks for this.

Can anyone tell me what the differences are to look for so I'll know just to make sure when I see a pic of it before I buy one from a member (if the differences can be seen from a pic). I mean I use to trust people no problem when I did things on the board. But you have to understand I'm a little gun shy now lol. I have perfect trader feedback (as do most here) and go out of my way to do things right and deliver a part that what I say is 100% correct.

If anyone has a 00-02 stock perfect working condition TB laying around they want to get rid off please let me know.

Basically the only difference is the "throttle arm" between the 2. The hole where the cable connects is in a different spot.

Easiest way to tell is the size of the cam gear. 98-99 have a much smaller sized cam gear compared to 00-02. That's the reason for the different length throttle cables needed between the two as well.
