Default TSP true dual installation question

I started installing my TSP true duals and I forgot that it's not meant for use in conjunction with the stock torque arm. Will any aftermarket torque arm fit or could I even use the relocation bracket because its cheaper and im a little, actually a lot low on cash right now. Thanks guys

Where did you hear that? It is incorrect. TSP duals work fine with the stock torque arm. It's the tunnel mounted torque arm where things get tight and some guys have problems.

You can use them with UMI transmission mounted torque arm and torque arm relocation. However, Red Bird is right, it should work with your stock torque arm too.

There are benefits of using an aftermarket torque arm like UMI's though... You can usually get them tucked up a little tighter with the aftermarket TA. But like I said before, the duals work just fine with a factory TA.

The True Dual kit will work w/ factory torque arms and aftermarket torque arms in the factory location. UMI does make a body mounted TA that will work with that exhaust system as well.

Default Hey

i just got done installing mine and you really have to get the drivers pipe to seat forward as much as possible I bet your running into the same thing I was where the pipe hits the arm..

Make sure that drivers side pipe is all the way forward and you should be good!

I had to beat mine on a bit wiht a small 1x6 flat board and a small sledge

it takes a little tweaking but ounce its on there its fits well! i have done this setup with a stock and after market umi torque arm and both had just enough clearance!

just keep at it! it will fit!

dont try and assemble it on the ground and lift it up as one piece! I had better luck putting the pieces on separately

work with it... it will fit!

They dump at the axle.

Definately works with the stock torque arm. You do have to remove the tunnel brace, and if you want them to tuck up the best, flip the fuel line brackets upside down and push the fuel lines up away from the pipe into the flipped brackets.

TSP's duals are dumped before the rear axle.

you just have to work with it. make sure the pipes on the headers are on all the way. but it will fit with factory ta no problem. If you take your time you will have no problem with clearance either at stock ride height.

Good info!

Do we know if they fit with a MWC body mount TA?

Ok great I dont have to buy another torque arm right away, I asked around before and didn't get a clear answer. So I HAVE to take the tunnel brace off? Doesnt sound good.

no. tsp td's would have to run a pipe over the left side which can't be done with out some work.

OR

ran under the axle which they also don't offer because there are clearance issues, especially when jacking the car up.

That stock tunnel brace won't fit with almost any aftermarket y-pipe or x-pipe system. It is also not a very useful piece to start with. There is not a lot of bracing that flat plate can do, its there to help hold up the stock exhaust.

Lol, when you take the brace off you'll understand why it's not a big deal to run without it...

I just installed the TSP true duals with the Midwest Chassis tunnel mount torque arm. They have one specifically designed for the duals. Fits great and I can tuck them as high as I want w/ no problems. (bullets damn near hit before the torque arm clearance becomes a problem)

are the tsp true duals a bolt up system??? like if i ordered them off the internet, when they got to my house i could put them on myself without welding or cutting (i understand a little persuasion) and drive off?? what about hangers and such. is all of that included???
