Default Lid Question

I did a quick search for the answer I dunno maybe I missed it. Anyway the black plastic piece under the lid can you remove that with no negative effects or not? I see most people just cutting a small section out of them not the whole thing.

It's also used as a Radiator support thats why they don't rmove the whole thing they just cut what they want out of it to try to get better air flow to there intake.

Thanks for the fast reply. So will it hurt anything to leave it out? I dont see how a flimsy plastic piece is providing much support.

The piece that you have the arrow pointing to is OK to leave out. The thick outer piece with the two bolt holes on each side of the air filter housing is what is really doing all the work to hold the the Radiator and Condensor in place.
