boltons = loss on power
first off what little mods my car has it seems over the past few years when ive added them my car just felt slower and slower. I dont know if its because my car is getting up there in miles or if its because its not tuned. It just doesnt have the kick it had when i first got it even after the mods ive done. car has almost 160000 miles now but doesnt smoke or use oil. anybody ever had any problems simular to this

I kind of felt the same way as you do with my car. My car has 141xxx miles on it and it feels fast, but not near as fast as it was when I first got it.... well that is what i thought until i drove my moms 07 v6 mustang. I thought I would never get where i needed to go in the mustang it was extremly slow feeling. I couldn't even drive it the same way I do my car. Afterwards I couldn't wait to get back into my car and as soon as I did, i realized just how much difference there was.

i whent through a divorce and my ex had the car for a while and when i got the car back it was about 9000 miles overdue on a oil change and it ran so poor it wouldnt even burn the tires when i left wouldnt even downshift right. i changed the oil and it helped and not long after i started modding it i think mabey she may have done something. i had the car dynoed when i lived in virginia all i had was the true duals and a hand held superchip program no headers yet or anything eles and it put down about 267 to the ground and i didnt know better but ive been told that mabey the chip was holding my car back so i dont use it anymore

You've just gotten used to it....like a drug addict you need a better fix. lol Drive a 4-banger a while then you'll feel like you're in top fuel dragster when you get back in your car.

A tune isnt a bad idea, but some questions need answering first.
Have you changed plugs and wires? (mileage on them if you have)
Have you replaced the fuel filter? (mileage on it if you have)
Cleaned the MAF lately?
Check engine light on?
The mileage also has me wondering the condition of the O2 sensors as well. They can cause it to run a little under par and without tripping the SES light. Only a scanner that can read all that will let you know i.e tech 2, hptuners, etc.
I'd do a lil more maintenance and checking stuff before hittin the dyno. They'll definately stand out on the dyno if you don't and a good tuner will see that.

Blue98Z is dead on - give your car a good tune up. Based on my experience, my suggestions are:
MSD wires (replace the set you have if they are 3+ yrs old)
NGK plugs (pick your poison based on if you still run that 100 shot)
Fuel filter, any brand
clean your maf
consider 02 sensors, try to stick with AC Delco is the pocket book can cover 'em
Oil/filter; air filter
Given all of these are good, my guess is you would feel a nice gain with a tune due to removing the torque management and some of the other basic tweaks - but keep in mind your tune should not be causing you to lose power after your mods. You probably have just gotten use to your power level, removing some of the restrictive elements in an auto tune could help eliminate that

Yep, me too...I felt a definite loss in low end grunt after my long tube header/off road y pipe install. I got it tuned, and it started acting like I expected it to (LT's, ORY, P&P TB, lid, 2002 LS6 intake, etc). Tire roasting in first, a healthy spin when shifting to second, and breaking the tires loose shifting to third. Guess I need to address my traction issues .
