Default My take on "ghetto cold air"

I have since blocked off the front of the airbox with a smashed 1 1/4" hose and used silicone to seal around the tubes and seams of the lower box. I'm going to get a grill to cover the front. Laugh if you want, but I'm sure I gained .000001 horsepower @ 396mph! Let the ridicule begin!

It will probably actually work pretty well. You're gonna have 2 really dirty circles on your air filter though

this has been done plenty of times before man.. SUX2BU first created this I believe.. he used larger diameter hoses than you are. It definitely shows improvement on the track though.

Yes, that's where I stole the idea... bigger than 4" ? I doubt it. Tough to do with the bumper support still in... I cut 4" holes in mine around 9 years ago to fit aluminum dryer duct. Now THAT was true rice. The only reason these fit in the airbox without smashing them is that I don't have a condensor. I checked, it has the same intake surface area as a SR71 and the space shuttle combined.

Holy F'ing autosuck! You should be checking that filter for Honda's from time to time!

She's all sealed up now. But damn, you just pissed on my cornflakes! That's it! I'm welding a 55 gal drum on the front of my car to a Fernco coupler!
Besides, mine's still more ghetto...

None(well, less than FRA), but I DO have a sawzall.....

Don't make me use it! Nothing a little bailing wire wouldn't fix, anyway.

I knew a guy with a stock base cobalt that did what you did. Except 4 of them. And he put the holes in the bumper. With autozone fake chrome velocity stacks sticking out. That was rice.

The SUX2BU ram air has proven itself over and over
If done correctly to be one of the top two ram-air setups available for our cars.. The other being a good under car ram air like the chris1313 setup. I chose the SUX2BU because it's significantly cheaper, retains your ac, has no problems with parking blocks, and was made by me

Now the advantages to the chris1313 model is that it has a more finished/ professional feel and doesn't require any cutting.

In my old fox body I took heavy four inch dust collector tubing and ran it into my stock box with a K&N factory replacement filter. I ran it down under the front clip and made my own air scoop it actually looked pretty cool and helped a bit. Two of them should be pretty effective!

I've got that big weird box on my car too! I still need to do some painting because the inside of it is still that green color. You can see it under the slp lid LOL

Are we having a competition to see whose homemade ram-air is more ghetto now?

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring with my "Lowe's/Home Depot dryer ducting Special".
