Default engine weight

hey so im researching currently for a future build i have in mind and have been scouring all over the next and a couple forums and still have not seem to find any solid information to the questions im asking.

but essentially i want to know what is the weight of a stock LS1 engine (the engine itself) and seperatly the weight of a t-56 if you happen to know it.

also couldnt find a solid weight for the 5.0 windsor but i know this isnt the forum to ask, but if you happen to know, please feel free to let me know.

thanks again guys

A fully dressed LS1 is about 430lbs. T56 is somewhere around 165, its heavier than the 4L60E thats for sure.

Considering the 5.0 is iron, I'm sure it is heavier.

The T56 by itself is about 125-130lbs. The clutch, flywheel and bell housing might get the entire setup to 165lbs. (or more).

I believe the auto is a tad heavier then the M6. Thats the M6 with no clutch/flywheel and the auto with no converter. I have never weighed them only lifted both. A stock converter is in the neighborhood of 50 pounds, and an aftermarket 9.5 inch billet converter is about 35. I believe clutch/flywheels are usually in the neighborhood of 50 as well, depending on exact one obviously. So trans weight depends on whats hanging out in the front.

I'll have to look it up as well but lifting my t56 it definitely felt lighter than my 4l60e, and the torque converter weighs the same if not more than my clutch/flywheel

Yeah I was saying attached to the motor with all the stuff. The clutch and flywheel is a little heavier than the torque converter (dry). T56 is like 125-130 by itself?
