Default PS Return Hose Leak

My Power Steering has a leak from what I think is the return hose. Went to Autozone to price a replacement hose and the guy sold me a generic piece of 3/8 Rubber Hose. My question is, How do I disconnect where it goes into the steering rack and are the metal parts of this line re-usable?

Take a hacksaw and cut just bellow where the factory line is crimped then slide your new hose over the steel line and use hose clamps to attach the rubber hose to the steel line and I would use two of them on the steel line just for insurance.

Then hook up the top piece to the resovoir useing a hose clamp also.

Hope I have helped.

You'll be fine on the return line with a hose clamp

Or you can get the original OE return hose from GM parts direct. They have it for about $14

If you cut it I would use a flaring tool and just put a slight single flare on there, just enough to expand the end out a touch before putting the hose and two hose clamps on (probably could get away with one if you do that).
