Default LS6 steam tube

does the LS6 steam tube use the LS1 gaskets under the bolt/block part of the tube assembly? I went to the dealer the other day to look at the gasket and it looks like a redundant piece on the LS6 tube since it has a nice rubber seal on the bottm of the bolt/block............so ........gasket or no gasket?

Mine had a small o-ring that was pressed into the cross over blocks.

thats why i am thinking no gasket.......the dealer call up shows a gasket under the ls6 tubes on 2001-2 models.....but i cant see how that will work with the rubber o ring on the block

me and the parts guy looked at it and wondered how it would work.....i think it would create a leak adding the gasket on there

The ls6 design superceded to the o-ring seal, you do not need the gasket. The o-ring is all you need.I just installed 2 ls6 crossover pipes(front/rear) when i upgraded my intake to ls6, no leaks.

Some of them have the oring groove machined into them. Some do not and you then need a gasket. I have one of each in my garage. You can get the gaskets at any auto parts store.
