Mine was removed but mysteriously came back when I brought my SS here to Europe. First time out driving after an hour inspecting it, I got it up to speed and it stopped right past 155mph, probably 160 or so. Now, until I find a tuner (and the time), it will stay there. It sucks to cruise at 155, then get blown away by a damn Audi Station Wagon going faster than I can go. Those are the ONLY things I can never catch.

On my first dyno tune we found that my car was speed limited to an odd number - maybe 115mph, I forget. Probably because the car came from the factory with the cheapest all season tire option. I think that's what they use to set the limit. It takes 2 seconds for your tuner to set it to whatever you want. Now I think it's set at 250mph - or some other unattainable number.

You won't need to go faster than 162 unless you are making some serious power, meaning you are into the 8s. At that power level, you won't have the stock computer in there anyways. So unless you want to drive like a complete crazy ******* a lot over 162mph, there is zero point in having the limiter off.
