Default Magnaflow Catback question.

So I'm tired of my current exhaust was looking to buying the magnaflow catback for my 98 Z28. Now I do have all boltons minus the WP. My question is, is this a really good free flowing exhaust or is it pretty restricitive. Please let me know your opinions.

From what I've read it seems to flow very well. I was looking into one for my 98 as well. Either that one or a Hooker. I think the Flowmasters are thought to be restrictive, not the Magnaflows

personally I like the sound of my Magnaflow 3" exhaust...
I wanted to buy the Hooker, but at the time of my purchase, everybody was out of them...so I went with Magnaflow... no regrets..
the hooker and magnaflow both flow about the same.. but the hooker has a slightly deeper tone

What Catback do you currently have on the car?

Are you running on stock manifolds or do you have headers of some type? (Either Longtubes or Shortys.)

it flows pretty good, I prefer the sound of mine through a cutout but it does have a nice growl above 3k rpm imo.

check for the exhaust thread where the guy was doing a true dual build using warlock mufflers, on the first page of it towards the obttom theres a list of 10 diff types of mufflers by sound, hp, and tq numbers... magnaflow was towards the top all around... i have it too and am very happy, not overly loud with longtubes, but loud when you want it to be

Nope, I think my ears are fine. I have the Magnaflow on my own car and am not the biggest fan of it in person, so forgive me if your vid doesn't mean **** to me.

magnaflow sucks ***, it fits like ****(muffler sits too damn low and it makes the tips point at an angle up towards the bumper) it sounds like **** it is overall ****. of course IMO... hey its at least stainless for now! If you want a good sounding exhaust buy a texas speed rumbler (or custom setup same style) and replace there bullet with a muffler you will not be dissapointed it is as good as it gets without true duals.

i like my magnaflow im sure ill like it once i get and ory and longtubes but man does the fitman suck it hits my panhard bat bent the exhaust pipe, i think it change the tone a bit in doing so. and it just sounds like the whole exhaust is gonna fall of the car all the time its very annoying.. its gotten worse im gonna put it on my buddys lift and take the whole thing apart and put back together because i think the shop did a bad job putting it on.. but all in all great tone its just too quiet if you could just turn the volume up with the same tone lol

Exactly what I mean but fit like crap. Unless you want to spend many hours and do some custom work on a "ready to install" catback I would stay away. There are much better catbacks for cheaper IMO that fit way better perform better and sound better.

My car came with Magnaflow and it sounds good. Not what I would have bought if it was me but it does sound good even though I'm not totally in love with it. There is one sponsor on here (can't remember) that has on thier website they dyno'd an F Body with Magnaflow and got good results. New it's decently priced too.

My Magnaflow fit fine. It took a little bit to adjust it, but I have no problems with it clearing anything.

My buddy has it on his 98 and it sounds pretty good, seems to flow pretty well. I am not really a fan of the sound though.
