Default plug wires

I am installing a taller set of valve covers on my engine, and ive read that the plug wires wont be long enough. Am i correct that the truck wires are longer and should work? Secondly, does it matter what wires i use or will they all fit my coils and spark plugs? Any Recommendations? ive heard msd wires are crap so is there any aftermarkets that will work and are the correct length or should i just go after a set of gm truck wires? They sell oem truck wires on gmpartsdirect for 56 bucks a set.

Thanks

Truck wires are around 1" to 1 1/2" longer.

Yea the truck wires are longer because the coils are larger and sit higher off of the valve cover than the car coils do.

Not sure where you heard MSD wires are crap (and I'm not here to debate that), but thet're significantly longer than stock and have proven to not need heatshields. I would say MSD 8.5mm wires are as long if not a bit longer than OE truck wires.

I think that summitracing has some "truck" wires that are longer. I think they actually say LS1 truck or something. It confused me at first when I went to buy wires for my T/A. I have had no problems with my MSD wires. Prolly get them cheaper than you can get those OEM type.

I've heard that MSD coils are crap, but I haven't heard anything bad about the wires.
