Default Starter grinding after trans swap

Hey folks,

I just did an A4-M6 swap and everything is going pretty well. I got everything together tonight and went to start the car and the starter cranks, but it sounds like the teeth are hitting the flywheel but not engaging. It is not turning the engine over at all.

I tried turning the engine over by hand and it does, so it's not binding or anything.

Is it possible that a stock flywheel and bellhousing and a stock starter won't work together? Is there anything I can try to do differently? Maybe shim it?

Thanks a lot folks,

Brian

Turned out my battery was only at 9volts and wasn't giving it enough juice. Jumped it and BAM, works perfect.

Everyone make a note of this, heh.
