Default 1 solid motor mount

Has anyone installed just the drivers side poly motor mount? Would this combination work well with a poly trans mount? If anyone has done this would you be interested in selling your extra mount? Thanks.

Why would you want to do this?

sounds like it would bend/break something from one side flexing and the other not...

seems like a REALLY BAD setup IMO

I am trying to limit flex but a little give is good. Think about the torque load under normal driving conditions. I currently have a poly trans mount and I want to reduce the rotation on that but would still like some viberation dampening. Can't shift properly without the poly tranny mount, but I really don't want the whole powertrain solid. Has anyone tried this???

You're not going to reduce flex with one solid and one poly mount...the solid isn't going to allow the engine to move, but the poly may allow enough flex to cause some issues.

Solid motor mounts + rubber trans mount. The trans mount isn't keeping anything from rotating, anyway - it just keeps the trans from moving up and down.

Old school hot rodders did this all the time. 1 rubber, 1 solid. Supposedly helps absorb vibration but limits movement enough that the rubber mount won't rip from torque.

But rubber trans mount was still used.

Install a torque limiter if you're rocking that hard. No need to micky mouse your car
