Default Card style MAF

I was thinking about switching from the 85mm MAF to a new card style but i have heard that it may not be the best to use the card style with the old style computers. Is there any truth to this? If so why?

FWIW I will be using a 100mm MAF with card style sensor, my tuner doesn't seem to be concerned.

I'm running an ls7 maf card with my 02 PCM. Just make sure you have a good tuner!

Ive seen a couple threads here and there about LS1 guys using Halltech and PowerMaf 100mm MAF (they use a card style sensor). It seems to work just needs a good tuner.

Is that MAF more sensitive to turbulence, same, better? That has always been the issue with the hot wire if descreened.

Would like any gain the flow would provide but not at the expense of drivability since most of time will be spent around town.

That is a pretty sick intake setup. Are you running F/I? Who did your tuning? I am having a little bit of a hassle tuning my 100mm ls7 card style
