Default Headers on a 383

Well I have a 02 WS6 that has Mac mids, with catted y-pipe and a LM2. I have a lid and smooth bellow. With those mods my car made 340rwhp and 350 rwtq and trapped 110 in the 1/4 on a stock tune.. I am building a 383 Stroker with a 238/248 duration cam and some ported LS6 heads and for now my LS6 intake. I found a set of Flowtech Longtubes for 75.00 and are in pretty good shape. Will still need a y pipe. I love my Macs but should I do longtubes on my car? My car runs the same or better then alot of cars with the same mods as mine but with LT'S.. I know this question has been asked and I have been doing some searchs but the guy needs to know if I want the headers by tonight or not. Any input would be great. Thanks..

i dont believe you will gain much of anything with them, they have small primaries just like your macs. They do have a reputation of having a junk flange. If you dont get some longtubes with 1 3/4 primaries then i suggest you just port your macs.

Thats a good idea. Should I look into pacesetters or some other long tube header then and not get the Flowtechs?

there have been multiple articles showing substancial power increases over short and mid tube headers,as compared to long tubes, now that you are going with more Cubes, you really need to up to long tubes with larger primaries, I also would go with TSP 1 7/8 headers, heard nothing but positive about them.
