Default debate over magnaflow loud or no

Ok me and my buddy were talking about exhaust systems,we both decided to change our setups over the winter ,I switched from a lm1 to a tsp true duals with sweet thunders,he has a mid 230s cam, ory, and crapmaster lol sounds pretty good though,he wants to go magnaflow,he thinks it will be pretty loud,I have never heard a magnaflow in person I think they sound good from the clips I have heard but everyone has told me there quite,he seems to think it will be pretty loud still, not crazy loud but still loud,I think he is in for a dissapointment, lol what do you guys think,I told him if he was gonna stay with a y pipe to go gmmg,

magnaflows tend to be quiet but sound good at WOT.

See that's what I wanna know with a big cam and ory can it be kinda on the loud side,he isn't gonna like it if he can't hear it,I told him if he went with a magnaflow he should also get a cut out,but I don't think he wants to run a cut out open 24/7. If I knew the magnaflow could be on the loud side with a ory and a big cam I would have went that route, from sound clips it has a great sound, but I wanna hear it at idle

magnaflow is not loud at all. Im not sure why people think that it is loud. I just replaced my ory and magnaflow for a 3" TSP duals and im loving.

I have a 230/227 cam, and longtubes and ory and magnaflow and i could barely hear my cam lope. Now with duals, i definitely can hear my cam lope. sounds so much better. I am not really impressed with magnaflow. it was quiet at idle, and smooth at crusing. To say magnaflow is loud at WOT, its kinda ridiciulous cuz every exahust will scream at WOT.

If i were to pick any exhaust over magnaflow it would be hooker, corsa, or duals.

My Magnaflow was quieter than stock at idle and cruising. However, at WOT the magnaflow screams. It also has a straightflow design. So it's the best of both worlds. Sort of like corsa but cheaper.

magnaflow/hooker/slp dual/dual seem to be the quieter catbacks
flowmaster/borla/gmmg are the louder ones
and the loudmouths are well... very loud

I think longtubes, ory, and LM1 is just as loud if not louder than running duals.

I had my magnaflow for about 2-3 years and i didnt think it was loud or got louder.

Yeah of course a exhaust is gonna scream at wot,my stock one did, lol,I. Think it comes down to some people think its loud but everyone has there own opinions, but as far as to what inmy01 said,do some of the go bad and that's why there are few claims of them beeing loud, this is a off the wall guess here,I don't see a product as well known as magnaflow having bad crap,I had a lm1 on my ss and it was crazy loud, have any of you guys heard a borla or magnamouth?

I went with duals,we are talking about a set up for my friend,he is lowered with a eibach kit I think they are sportlines there the lower ones,I told him to wait and see when my duals get here how well they will tuck but his car is almost slammed looks great but he doesn't wanna have clearance issues

Magnaflow is a good quality catback no doubt. Stainless steel, and not very loud and raspy. It has a smooth crisp sound. I would suggest hooker catback for you friend. Its just as loud as magnaflow is at idle. Which is quiet. But the hooker has a more deeper, and muscular sound to it than magnaflow and i believe is a bit cheaper than magnaflow.

Also, another good option is the TSP rumbler. I think it is something like the loudmouth with a muffler in there, so it is not loud and raspy. Plus its really cheap priced also.

I'm still undecided if I'm going to switch from LT's, ORY, LM1 to a magnaflow with an electric cutout or if I should change the LM1 over to a borlamouth/magnamouth. Like you said sometimes its hard to tell how loud it really is on the videos.
