well there are many other ways to go louder. id say swap the cat back or muffler with something better if its mainly for sound. or you can do a cut out. id leave the stock exhaust alone for when u have LTs and ory or duals and for a reason you want t o go back to stock and louder doesnt mean faster lol

If you want you can get some high flow cats when you do longtubes, will be more friendly to the environment and flow well too, along with decreasing rasp.

You know, for about $250 you could get the Mufflex cat
bypass tubes and have a bolt-back-in option in case you
do get busted or the Smog ***** parachute back into
your state. That's like 3 hours or less of shop rates.

hey, don't worry about doing it the cheap way. the real gains come from LT's, a good y-pipe, and a good catback. untill you have the money to do all this i would leave it stock.
now my preference in exhaust comes from mufflex, a good set of headers paired with their y-pipe, and one of their large diameter catbacks is the way to go IMHO. check out the links in my sig and follow them to my channel if you want to see more.
