Default AC condensor as an oil cooler?

just a thought, and a quick search didnt net any results of this being discussed.

Can I use an AC condensor as an oil cooler?

main questions being

will it flow enough fluid?
will it be oil compatible?
will it hold up to the pressure? heat?

a/c condensor i have laying around

I'm leaning towards no. You are talking about a big difference in fluid dynamics. That condenser was never designed for somthing as thick as oil. Besides oil coolers can be custom ordered for any size and app you want. And for relatively cheap too. So why bother?

I guess you'd really have to know the fluid flow rate...that last thing you'd want to do is introduce a restriction in the oiling system when you are spinning the engine to the moon.

Not a good idea, condenser isn't a oil cooler. Its a condenser for ac high pressure vapor to condense into a high pressure liquid. Its design is nothing like a engine oil cooler.

Yes it will work. I have seen this done before. Oil pressure is way lower than a/c pressure. A condenser is a radiator. All fluid coolers are radiators. You could use a heater core for a cooler if you wanted. It doesn't matter, it will work.

Sure it'll work but why use this? As it has a huge radaiting area (compared to the usual oil coolers), it may cool the oil too much. Cold oil is not goo for an engine. This is why we let our engins warm up before we whomp on them.
