Yes.
Yes. Sounds terrible (think redneck lifted pickup), it's extremely loud, your neighbors will hate you, and you'll get pulled over. Unlike an electric cutout, you cannot silence the car with the push of a button. I would hate to have my car that loud all the time.
It'll be loud but it won't be a nice loud. Anyone with a Honda Civic can have a loud exhaust, but it doesn't sound good. There's nothing better than a nice sounding exhaust note, which isn't what you get by hacking off the muffler.

I did at one time, long tubes with an ORY and a muffler delete so it was straight pipes all the way back. Sounded like *** driving around but WOT was amazing, minus the fact that it was deafening. It also droned like crazy.

"Muffler delete" does not sound good on these cars like it does on other cars that have a "resonator" set up.
GTO/C4/CTS etc. can get away with it because of the exhaust set up they have. Your best bet for great sound/tone is to go with a "Borlamouth" set up using a Borla XR-1 race bullet.
Example of a good "muffler delete": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaO-VtphvKU

I don't know how much it would help running tail pipes but if it sounds anything like what I heard it sounds like complete ***,my lm1 sounded like king of all exhaust compared to that crap, and I don't care for the lm1,but if you want a loud car I had ory,longtubes,ms4 cam,lm1, and it was crazy loud,I like loud and it had me at my limit,

I had my muffler off for like 2 weeks. When I bought my car it had a flowmaster on it. I cant stand flowmaster so I cut it off. I am from Houston and drove to Abilene TX which is a 350 mile trip. All I can say is I made it all the way to Abilene with a little less then a 1/4 of gas. When I put my TD's on, I had to fill up right outside Abilene. It doesnt sound bad, but the drone got old
