Default Cats Question

I have the texas speed ypipe and cats and looking to break them up without pulling the whole exhaust down and wanna change the tone, someone told me if i smack the cats underneath the car wit a hammer the ceramic will break apart and will come out the exhaust??? anyone ever give it a try?

Why the hell would you spend the money on the TSP catted Ypipe only to destroy it? Beat it with a hammer? Is this Joe Billy Bob's Garage? If you are deadset on gutting them, drop the exhaust and ram a pry bar through there instead of smashing the outside up.

Guys these high flow cats don't inhibit flow that much. Expecially the ones from texas speed. My guess the the only diffenence can expect to see is the price. Becuase if your looking for seat of the pants gains or big advantages over your competitor it's not going to happen. Look for a used electric cut out. You will atleast see 5 to 10 HP from it. Depending on what exhaust you have now. You won't see anything from gutting " HIGH FLOW" Cats. Key Prase being " HIGH FLOW" here. And if I am not mistaken some of these cats have metallic seperaters. They won't break up.

Yes if you spent the money on it just leave it or replace it with an offroad y and sell your catted one. Just dont go beating on it.

wuts these metallic seperaters ur talking about? they cant be broken?

your gonna regret it. you can simply cut them weld a straight pipe in and try. your gonna ruin your pipe and eventually you will put them back.
