Default summit cutout?

just wondering if anyone had purchased any of the summit electric cutouts yet. I sold my previous exhaust setup that had a QTP which worked great, never had any problems with it. Was looking into adding another cutout to my current system. Any good things about summit? or should I just go with another QTP or DMH? Thanks

Yeah i know DMH makes a reall good cutout, just trying to save a couple bucks, in the end I'll probably go with one of theirs, unless I get convinced the summit ones do the job just as good

The summit one looks pretty good for the price. Summit doesn't sell junk with there name on it

I was also thinking the same thing. There is a huge price difference between the two.

I know a band clamp is quite a bit different than an electric cut out... but I actually bought some of the Summit Racing band clamps and was VERY impressed by them. I think they were either 6.95 or 7.95 and they were full polished stainless steel with an actual threaded backing plate on them as opposed to most band clamps that use bolt and nut. Really nice units for the price. I actually couldn't believe they can sell something like that so cheap.

The Summit, DMH and Race Readies e-cutouts all look like they are cut from the same cloth.. I would not be worried about any of them.

I would say that Summit parts are reputable...I've ran there carb headers full exhaust and lowering springs on my 73 Camaro it held up fine until the 350 ruptured and shot the pistons into the dart heads busting a few valves. (good excuse for an LT/LS swap) I would say if your on a budget why not.

its a 750 manual choke with mechanical secondary...its still sitting with the weind intake manifold looking for an LT/LS block to put it on. I'll let you know this weekend if we stick with the FI route or run the carb setup.

I bought a brand new summit cutout sometime in June and now the motor seems to be shot. I called summit and i guess because, i didn't buy it directly from them, they can't help me. I think i'm just going to forget about it and buy one from DMH. Its worth the extra few bucks because, i will have the peace of mind of knowing that DMH stands by their products.
